Meet The Founder - Brenda Anguiano
I started CASA with a simple mission: to support Mexican artisans while making their timeless, handcrafted pieces accessible to more homes in the U.S. As a Mexican-American woman with roots in Oaxaca, I often struggled to find home pieces that felt like me...clean, minimal, and modern, but still full of soul and a deep connection to my culture.
My heritage has always shaped the way I see beauty. My family was never wealthy, so I grew up surrounded by rustic kitchen items. Things that lasted. Things that had a story. These weren’t just plates or mugs; they were pieces that lived through holidays, laughter, and everyday life. I wanted to bring that kind of history and warmth into CASA.
One of my favorite childhood memories is playing “cocina” with my siblings while living in Oaxaca. We’d use platos de barro, pick tiny plants that looked like food, and pretend to cook with treasures from our grandma’s backyard. Even back then, I think I understood the magic that handmade pieces carry.
The name CASA is deeply personal. Growing up, we always referred to home as la casa. Even now, I still call my mom’s house la casa. It’s more than a place. It’s a feeling. Of belonging. Of being known. Of rest.
When someone brings a CASA piece into their home, I hope they can feel that same love. I hope they see the hands that shaped it, the intention behind every curve and color. These pieces are meant to live with you, to sit at your table during the ordinary and the extraordinary.
Right now, CASA is a passion project, but one day, I dream of opening a brick-and-mortar store. A space where people can touch, feel, and experience the magic of handmade Mexican craftsmanship in person.
To me, home is where you feel safe to be fully yourself. It’s where you can mentally check out, take a deep breath, and just be. I hope our pieces get to live in your home through all of life’s seasons. Quiet mornings, loud dinners, and everything in between.
Bienvenidos a CASA.
